Privacy notice.

The short version: I only use what you send me to reply about your project. No cookies, no tracking, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

Who is responsible

This site belongs to Dana Hernández (Dei), a freelance web developer based in Ecuador. I decide how the personal data sent through this site is used, so I’m the one responsible for it (the “controller”, in legal terms).

For anything about your data, write to me at [email protected].

What I collect

Only what you choose to send me, plus the minimum technical data needed to run the site:

  • Questionnaire answers: your name and email, and optionally your company, current website and the details of your project (goals, audience, pages, features, timing, budget and notes).
  • Emails you send me, with whatever you include in them.
  • Technical data: like every website, the hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the pages and block attacks. The form service may also record your IP address with a submission to filter spam.

This site uses no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Fonts are served from this site, not from third parties. Please don’t send sensitive data (health, finances, ID numbers) through the questionnaire; it isn’t needed.

Why I use it

I use your data only to:

  • reply to you and book a call about your project;
  • prepare a proposal and the first draft of your project brief;
  • if we work together, run the project and keep the records the law requires.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give with the checkbox on the questionnaire or by emailing me, and the steps you ask me to take before a contract. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to me; that doesn’t affect anything done before. I never use your data for advertising, I don’t sell or rent it, and I don’t make automated decisions about you.

Who else handles it

A few services help me run the site. They process data on my behalf, only to provide their service:

  • Formspree (United States) receives the questionnaire and emails it to me.
  • Google (Gmail, United States) is where I receive and keep email.
  • Cloudflare (global network) hosts the site and protects it from attacks.

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own data-protection terms. Apart from them, I only share your data if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

If we don’t end up working together, I delete your questionnaire answers and our emails within 12 months of our last contact.

If we do, I keep project correspondence for as long as the project lasts, and invoices and contracts for as long as tax and accounting laws require. After that, I delete them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to:

  • tell you what data I have about you and give you a copy;
  • correct or update it;
  • delete it;
  • stop or limit using it, or object to a use;
  • send it to you or to another service in a common format.

Write to [email protected]. I’ll reply within 15 days, at no cost. I may ask you to confirm it’s you before sharing anything.

If you think I’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to a data protection authority: in Ecuador, the Superintendencia de Protección de Datos Personales; in the EU or UK, the authority in your country. I’d appreciate the chance to fix it first.

Security

The site and the questionnaire use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only I can read your answers. No system is completely secure, but I keep access to the accounts that hold your data limited and protected.

Children

This site is for businesses and adults. If you’re under 18, please don’t send me personal data; ask a parent or guardian to get in touch instead.

Changes to this notice

If I change how I use data, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is important and I have your email, I’ll tell you.
